I have heard some people say that 2015 wasn’t as good a year for metal as last year. I find myself unable to agree with that assessment. For the better part of 2015, I felt like I was spinning around in circles trying to catch all the great albums as they came flying by; I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a great undiscovered treasure just around the next corner that I had not yet discovered. Despite this, there were a great many wonderful discoveries this year, and I attribute many of these to Bandcamp. When I decided to change over my music collection from MP3 to FLAC this past spring, Bandcamp became my go-to spot for buying music. While I had been using Bandcamp before my FLAC obsession, this year it was probably my greatest resource. Not only can you get albums from many signed bands, but you will also find music from unsigned bands that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. I cannot thank Bandcamp enough for all the great music they have provided me with this year, and you will find some those releases in the following list of my Top 25 albums for 2015. I hope you can find some new music to enjoy in this and the list that follows. - George
